Guidance (Management Outlook)

Guidance is a company's official forecast of its future financial performance, usually shared during earnings calls or press releases. Think of it as management's best guess about revenue, profits, or growth for the next quarter or year. You'll see this in earnings reports and investor presentations—it matters because investors use it to decide whether a stock is worth buying. If a company beats its guidance (performs better than predicted), the stock often rises; if it misses, it typically falls. For example, TechCorp might guide for $500 million in quarterly revenue, and if they actually hit $520 million, that's a positive surprise. Guidance isn't a guarantee, just management's honest prediction based on current business conditions.
