Earnings Call

An earnings call is a live conference where a company's executives discuss their recent financial results with investors and analysts. You'll encounter these quarterly (four times a year) after companies release their earnings reports—basically their financial report card. They matter because executives often reveal future plans, explain why numbers went up or down, and answer tough questions that help you understand if the company is actually doing well. For example, TechCorp might announce strong profits, but during the call reveal they're losing customers in their biggest market, which could change how you view the stock. It's your chance to hear directly from leadership, not just read a press release.
