Relative Strength (RS Rating)

Relative Strength (RS Rating) measures how a stock's price performance compares to the overall market over a specific period, usually the past year. It's a score from 1 to 99 that tells you whether a stock is outperforming or underperforming. You'll see RS Rating used by growth-focused investors and in stock screeners because it helps identify momentum—stocks that are already winning tend to keep winning, at least in the short term. For example, if TechCorp has an RS Rating of 85, it means it's outperforming 85% of all stocks. A rating above 70 is generally considered strong. It's not a buy signal on its own, but it's a useful filter when you're hunting for stocks worth researching further.
