Crypto Treasury Company

A Crypto Treasury Company is a traditional business that holds cryptocurrency (like Bitcoin or Ethereum) on its balance sheet as a corporate asset, rather than as part of its main business operations. You'll encounter these when researching companies that have decided to park cash reserves in crypto instead of dollars or bonds. It matters because these companies' stock prices can swing based on crypto price movements—if Bitcoin tanks, so might the stock, even if the business itself is doing fine. For example, a software company might hold $50 million in Bitcoin as treasury reserves, making it a partial bet on crypto's future value alongside your investment in their actual products.
