Congress trading (Pelosi tracker)

Congress trading refers to tracking stock trades made by members of Congress and their families. Because lawmakers have access to non-public information through their work, the SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) requires them to publicly disclose their stock purchases and sales. You'll encounter this on financial sites tracking these filings—sometimes called "Pelosi tracker" after former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, whose trades were frequently monitored. The idea is that if a congressperson is buying or selling a stock, it might signal something about upcoming legislation or economic trends they're aware of. For example, if a senator suddenly sold all her tech stocks before announcing a major antitrust investigation, that pattern could be worth noticing. It's legal, but transparent.
